Performance at City Harvest Church

Last sat, I was invited to perform yoyo and diabolo at the Church.
The responds from the kids were great! Its the first time I tried out my new yoyo routine. (thanks to pepper for guiding me) Looking forward for more performance!

Chiki is a very good magician, dancer, contact juggler and also a very good teacher
I've learn alot from him these few days..
i think the contact juggling scene in singapore is not that popular yet... so maybe i can try to practise it.
anyway, chiki's dance teacher is madonna's dancer.
So now i'm madonna's dancer's student's student.

not going to stop here now, going to learn some dance moves..

last day in tokyo

finally today is the end of my 12 days Japan Tokyo trip
i'm now at tokyo narita airport

few days ago i hope i could get back to singapore as soon as possible
but now

i really don't like the feeling of leaving this country
don't really feel well now...
feels like i've got something important to do but i never do it

airport is a very sad place.......
i hope i can do something to change the feel of the airport.....

I'm very excited about it. i can practise my japanese and learn some performing skills from them. maybe i should plan my routine to show them so that they can give me some advise.

i notice someone on the cover page, i think he's the ball bouncing juggler.

i love my job

if u happens to saw my blog but u don't know who am i and what do i do for a living...
this is what i do:
i'm a instructor and a performer
i teach and perform juggling, diabolo and yoyo
i got praises by teachers
i got applause from the audience
my job let me have a chance to choreograph a NDP (marching, formation and stunts) like routine
i get to perform at jubille hall, even though its only 2mins and btw the performers are my students hor!
i get to go Japan!
I get to work for festivals and meet alot of very good performer.

Envy huh? :)

i'm a genius!

i manage to get a new set of new costume for my coming performance.
bought the top and bottom off the shelve but i did some modification to it to make it look better
i like it very much!!!
saw a vest today, i wanna buy it but i'll have to think of a excuse...
costume is never enough for me.

but someday i want to design my own costume! :)

My humble little stall

this is my yo-yo/juggling stall located at Ang Mo Kio for the last 4 weeks.
it has been a good experience for me.
i felt very happy when i saw kids that bought yo-yos from me walking away knowing how to play with it.
thanks to the support from the resident there, i've a great time. Every weekend a ah ma will bring his grandson down to my place to learn yoyo from me. Even though she knew that i provide free yoyo workshop but she'll always try to buy new yoyo/string/accessories from me for her grandson. I really miss her and the boy. seeing people appreciate what i did for them really inspire me to work harder.

if only money is not the problem then i won't mind doing this for a living

Japan trip

i'll be going to japan again!
this time, i'll be going with 14 students, knik, kai, jimmy, 2 other teachers in charge and maybe eileen.
i'm looking forward to this trip! we'll be going to watch the daidogei world cup, maid cafe, attend rone and gigi class, maid cafe, sight seeing, maid cafe, eat sushi, maid cafe, eat ramen, maid cafe, play pachinko, maid cafe, visit naranja, and many many more! wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
i went to watch daidogei last year, and it was a memorable 1. http://www.daidogei.com/
i want to watch ryo yabe, kikyo brothers, tomiyuki, and hopefully komei or masaki live.
definately i'll kana inspired once again!

i found this pic when i was clearing up my computer files

i did it 2yrs ago using 3D viz

this was 1 of my best 3D drawing, i remember spending many hrs doing it

maybe 1 day i can design my own diabolo, yoyo or juggling props

2 weeks of no stop working

i've been working everyday for the past 9 days. very tired,

my yoyo collection

recently i've packed my yoyos and it brings back alot of memory
yoyos really bring me to many places. eg. Malaysia, US, and China
different yoyos tells a different story, some yoyos were given to me by my friends, alot by uncle tay, some i won it in yoyo contest, and some i bought it.

yoyo craze is here again and i'm working as a yoyo promoter now, i think i'm begining to like yoyos again.

i've got 2nd place in singapore yoyo championship 2009 (double handed division)

this may be my last yoyo competition
the previous yoyo competition that i took part was 2004
this yr, i am very happy with the results and my performance
maybe someday, i'll include yoyo to my diabolo and juggling performance

its not fun to compete in a competition, i still prefer yoyo as a leisure hobby

this may not be my best show but its definately 1 of my best crowd

teaching is a form of learning

i finally understand why do people always says that teaching is a form of learning.

i always think that vertax genocide is a very difficult trick, coz i cannot do it even after months of practise. but today when i was at __________, i sat on the stage and watch kai trying out that trick. from my point of view, i can easily tell him his mistakes and his mistakes is probably my mistakes too. so i did give him some comments and i try it out myself. to my suprise, i did it! :) now genocide is no longer a headache for me.

so pls dun be afraid that others will over take you if you teach them. instead, you might get better!

this is wat i like about juggling. Its the feeling of success. After many months of practise and when the moment u get it, the feeling is %$£"*+$@. i also dunno how to describe.

bag for juggling balls

recently i realise that my juggling balls are being squashed by the other props in my bag.
i need to have a hard case box to protect my juggling balls.
but hard case is not cool, u see.
so, i think it'll look cooler if i got a small bag attached to my gregory bag
and i think head porter will have wat i want.

incase u r thinking y must i buy a head porter bag

i've a new student!

what do i want?

recently i've been working hard with my juggling balls.
i'm totally inspired by komei aoki and i hope 1 day i can be as
gd as him. he style of juggling is very cool. juggling + hip hop

so last thursday i sign up a hip hop class at Kallang CC.
there are around 14 students in the class, 10 of them are aunties and uncles
and the other 3 are poly students. i'm considered 1 of the worst dancer in the
class. even the aunties can dance better than me. :(
but now, i'm inspired by the aunties... they prove to me that i can do it, if i wanna try.
actually i'm also proud of myself that i took the courage to sign up on my own.
i knew that i'm not a good dancer but the thing is if i don't learn now, i'll never be a
good dancer. btw, i learn hip hop is not because i want to become a dancer but i think it'll help me to have a better posture/pose
and even build up my confidence during performance.
